FINN x TÜV Süd return | Day of return & FAQ

Note: TÜV Rückgabe is currently a pilot program and is only available to invited participants.

Preparing the return

Use our checklist to prepare your vehicle for return. Please make sure that you return all parts that you received at the time of handover.
To ensure a correct assessment, your vehicle should always be clean. You will find a service station right next to the TÜV test center.

Day of return

📍 Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment on the day of return.

🔑 Register as a FINN customer at reception and hand in all keys and your vehicle registration document. You will then receive a document confirming that your vehicle has been handed in.

🔍 The inspection of your vehicle is carried out by independent experts and takes approx. 45-60 minutes. After the inspection, you will have the opportunity to discuss any damage with the experts. Please note that the experts cannot provide information on any costs that may be incurred. Information on calculating possible damage can be found in our guide to condition assessment.

🏠 Please note that you must organize your own journey home from the TÜV location.

After the return

📑 You will receive your final invoice by e-mail within the next two to three weeks. 


🤝 Questions & answers

Why is there a return fee? The TÜV test center is an intermediate station from which we transport your vehicle to our partner locations. In this way, we pass on our cost benefits directly to you and enable you to inspect the vehicle and any damage with the experts. The reduced return fee will be shown on your final invoice.

I can't make my appointment, what do I do now? Please contact our customer support directly. It is not possible to process the TÜV return in the customer portal.

My data in the customer portal is incorrect? As you are one of the first participants in the TÜV return process, your data is not yet displayed correctly in the portal. We ask for your understanding and will rectify this as soon as possible. You will find all relevant information about the return in the confirmation email (subject: ✅ Returning your FINN car to TÜV Süd).

I have already booked a return, what do I do now? No problem at all! Simply arrange a return appointment at the TÜV inspection center. As soon as this is confirmed, we will take care of canceling the return you have already booked.

What damage is calculated in the final invoice? In our guide to condition assessment, we use examples to show what is considered normal wear and tear (accepted condition) and what is calculated as damage (unaccepted condition) in the final invoice. You are welcome to familiarize yourself with the guide before returning the vehicle and during your subscription.
